A Joint Meeting Held Between Faculty Members of Ardakan University and Northern Technical University of Mosul (NTU), Iraq.

According to the Public Relations Office of Ardakan University, a joint meeting was held between the faculty members of Ardakan University and Northern Technical University of Mosul, Iraq, to develop international collaborations and strengthen academic relations. This meeting aimed to exchange knowledge and experiences, identify areas of mutual cooperation, and plan joint scientific projects and research initiatives.

Ardakan University, in its new phase of development, is not only focused on addressing local challenges but also extensively planning to expand its international relations with universities and academics worldwide. Considering the capacities and potentials in Iraq, the university aims to attract international students, facilitate faculty and student exchanges at the postgraduate level, and conduct joint research projects.

During the meeting, faculty members from Northern Technical University of Mosul, primarily from its agricultural departments, held specialized sessions with Ardakan University faculty members in various fields, including agriculture, natural resources, veterinary sciences, engineering, and food industries. The main topics of discussion included desertification, combating dust storms, water scarcity, and other shared concerns between the two nations. Additional sessions were conducted with groups focusing on horticulture, environmental engineering, ecology, economics, energy, and water to identify research priorities and establish collaboration opportunities.

The meeting resulted in the signing of a three-year joint memorandum of understanding, outlining the framework for academic and research partnerships between the two universities. Following this visit, Ardakan University plans to establish an operational team to implement the provisions of the agreement and initiate phased planning to identify and pursue shared objectives.

It is worth mentioning that this visit was conducted at the invitation of Ardakan University, and a reciprocal visit by Ardakan University’s team to Northern Technical University of Mosul is planned in the near future. In addition to academic exchange, these visits aim to explore university facilities, connect with faculty members, visit cultural and historical sites, and showcase the rich cultural heritage of Ardakan. This initiative demonstrates Iran’s active role in global academic and international arenas, highlighting that despite challenges such as the imposed 12-day war against the nation, Iran remains a dynamic and engaged country in scientific and international endeavors.
